"The importance of fine sediments in chemical transport and the basic knowledge requirements for developing mathematical models of fine sediment transport are reviewed. The flocculation process has been identified as the most important process requiring further research as it affects the fall velocity of the fine-grained sediments and the depositional and erosional characteristics of the sediment-water interface"--Abstract.
