Reductive dehalogenation of environmental contaminants : a critical review / R.M. Baxter. : En13-5/89-19E-PDF
"Many important environmental contaminants are less persistent under reducing conditions such as occur in sediments or flooded soils than under oxidizing conditions. One of the most important of the reductive reactions that occur under these conditions is reductive dehalogenation, i.e., the replacement by a hydrogen atom of a halogen atom (most commonly chlorine, sometimes bromine). The biochemical and microbiological processes involved are discussed in this review"--Management perspective.
