"The mixing between the Niagara River and Lake Ontario has a critical impact on the coastal Lake Ontario environment. The Niagara River provides the bulk of materials that flow into Lake Ontario, including toxic contaminants. This study shows that the thermal fronts created by the Niagara River play a crucial role in the exchange of water between river and lake"--Abstract.
