520 |a"Characterization of phosphorous (P) enriched solids was undertaken in the sediments below four mature septic system infiltration bed where previous monitoring of water table phosphate (PO₄) concentrations had indicated that substantial retention of P was occurring in the vadose zone. At each site, zones of P enrichment were identified by acid extraction of the sediments.
