520 |a"As part of a Remedial Action Plan study, the National Water Research Institute of Environment Canada was requested to determine the present contaminant loading rates to sediments of Port Hope Harbour. This report summarizes the study and gives information on the potential of recontamination of harbour sediments, by present day sources, if the contaminated sediments were removed. Based on the findings, the recontamination is possible by all compounds (nutrients, metals, and radionuclides) analyzed, and some PCB congeners, (tri- and tetrachlorobiphenyls)"--Management Perspective.
