"To assess the impact of thermal discharges from power plants into large bodies of water such as a lake, one needs to know the mixing characteristics and the temperature distributions. Such information is often obtained by simulating the phenomenon in a small scale model in the laboratory (physical model). Invariably, the physical models are distorted (by using different geometric scales for the horizontal and vertical directions). In this paper, the effect of geometric distortion is evaluated by studying thermal discharge processes in a model with and without distortion"--Management Perspective.
