"The information in this report is intended to be a first step in understanding the extant biodiversity of Coral in the federally and provincially regulated marine waters off British Columbia on the west coast of Canada. General status ranking (GSR) assessments are conducted by integrating the best available information on taxonomy, population size, distribution, trends and threats, to evaluate general status of each species. The information is intended to inform Federal and Provincial Agencies responsible for the management of anthropogenic activities within these waters, of the nature, extent and condition of the biodiversity and how these anthropogenic activities threaten the existence of these animals"--Abstract, page vi.
