"The City of Toronto expanded the North Toronto (NT) CSO settling tanks in 1991 (Fig.1A) to improve the treatment efficiency of the undersized CS0 and storm settling tanks constructed in 1924. In wet weather, CSOs escaping from an adjacent combined sewer enter the facility inlet channel, and continue through four connecting pipes into a distribution channel, and over inlet weirs into three storage tank cells"--Introduction, page 1.
