"The City of Burlington is undertaking a Class Environmental Assessment and detailed design of a waterfront pier at the foot of Brant St in Lake Ontario. The National Water Research Institute (NWRI) has an ongoing research project addressing the problem of attached algae growth along the Lake Ontario waterfront from Burlington to Mississauga. Both projects need inforrnation on the physical processes of waves and currents in the nearshore to provide guidance in other aspects of their respective projects"--Introduction, page 1.
