"TFM is the major pesticide used to control the sea lamprey in the Great Lakes. Each of the tributaries which have significant spawning populations of lamprey are treated every two to four years to kill the larvae. We recently identified that lampricides have the potential to induce mixed function oxygenase activity and alter steroid profiles in wild and laboratory fish exposed to normal treatment concentrations"--Page [4].
