"The purpose of the Beaufort Sea Prediction System Design Study includes the design of such a system and the examination of its benefits for environmental prediction and operational efficiency in offshore oil drilling. The system design involves the extension of current AES Forecast and Observational Systems to provide a variety of forecasts to support offshore drilling including frequent updates of high space-and time-resolution forecasts of the motion of floes, waves, storm surges, wind and weather"--Summary.
