Wave height prediction using TMA / by J.C. Doering and C.T. Bishop. : En13-5/90-117E-PDF

"A comparison of the TMA and linear theory methods of wave height prediction is presented. Data from the shoaling waves experiment conducted in Lake Ontario during the fall of 1987 and from laboratory experiments designed to complement the field data are used. The analysis of the laboratory data demonstrates that wave height is predicted slightly more accurately by the TMA method than by a simple linear wave model but with a bias to underpredict. Although the analysis of the field data is not as strongly conclusive as the laboratory data, the same result is obtained"--Abstract.
