On the velocity adjustment coefficient for the moving-boat method of discharge measurement / by P. Engel and K. Wiebe. : En13-5/93-53E-PDF

"Using theoretical analysis, and information based on river flow measurements, the pertinent properties of the velocity adjustment factor used with the moving-boat method of discharge measurement were examined. Results show that such coefficients depend on the relative roughness of the flow and that coefficients based on the log-law and the power-law give virtually the same result. A link between the log-law and the power-law was established"--Abstract, page iii.
