"Tornadoes, which have been observed in Manitoba and Saskatchewan during the past two decades, have been investigated and enumerated by a number of researchers. In the main, the enumerators focused on a specified region of one province or the other and on selected time-periods. Their primary data sources were the archives of selected newspapers located in the region of interest"--page 1.
