"This study has two objectives. The first is to provide documentation on the levels of independent Canadian production in the Atlantic provinces, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, and to assess the economic impact of this activity. Where possible information is also provided on the extent to which productions originating in Ontario and Quebec are shot in Eastern and Western Canada. The second objective is to examine the extent of foreign production in all provinces and to estimate the economic impact of this production activity. In meeting these objectives, estimates have also been provided on the indirect impact of film and television production on other sectors of the Canadian economy"--page 1.
