5203 |a"DRDC Valcartier has long been in involved data/information fusion & resource management, mostly on platforms (e.g. in 13dv "Airborne Information Fusion & Management for Tactical Picture Compilation", 2004-2007). Continuing this investigation , the ARP 13qa generalizes the problem to involve multiple platforms, such as cooperating UAVs, CPFs, and CP-140s, the latter having been studied under 13dv. The project has expanded the scope to address distributed information fusion and dynamic resource management in Network Enabled Operations (NEOps). It has designed and implemented an open standards testbed on which algorithms can be developed, tested and validated over a wide variety of scenarios relevant to the CF. In addition to the CP-140 results which were obtained under 13dv, it has leveraged lessons learned from previous naval TDPs, such as ASCACT and COMDAT. The project has resulted in a list of achievements, which includes a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) testbed, on which two complex scenarios have been developed (one cooperative and the other non-cooperative), distributed information fusion (concentrating on higher level fusion), and dynamic resource management algorithms (planning and scheduling) have been tested under various dynamic network constraints and environmental conditions. Numerous scientific publications have resulted from DRDC and its industrial and academic partners"--Abstract, page i.
