"During May and June 1983 and February and March 1984, the Environmental Protection Service conducted bacteriological surveys of bivalve molluscan shellfish growing waters in Nanoose Harbour, Lasqueti Island, Deep Bay and Pipers Lagoon. The surveys were conducted to classify the shellfish growing waters in accordance with federal bacteriological pollution standards for acceptable shellfish harvesting areas. Sanitary surveys were conducted concurrently to identify and evaluate the sources of fecal pollution to the marine waters"--Abstract, page i.
