Ecosystem Effects of Novel Living Organisms (EENLO) : governance model. : En83-12/29E-PDF

"Environment Canada is taking the lead on behalf of federal departments in developing Ecosystem Effects Of Novel Living Organisms (EENLO) a federal program whose purpose is to generate the knowledge necessary to ensure that development and use of novel living organisms (such as microorganisms, plants, trees, insects, animals and fish) occurs in an environmentally sustainable way. This will be accomplished through long-term research and monitoring of biodiversity/wildlife, biogeochemical cycling, and other ecosystem components and processes"--Introduction, page 2.
