"The status of exploited marine species in the Saguenay Fjord is assessed every two years and is based on various indicators from the recreational winter fishery (1995-2018), a research survey conducted by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (2000-2018) and logbook (2015-2018) data. This document presents the data and methods used to derive indicators from the research survey. Estimates of the number of fish per gillnet (NUE) are presented for each of the four species primarily targeted by the winter groundfish recreational fishery in the Saguenay Fjord: Atlantic redfish (Sebastes mentella), Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua), Greenland cod (Gadus ogac), and Greenland halibut (Reinhardtius hippoglossoides) also called turbot. Biological data including size structures and condition indices are presented for the different species. Information on the diet of Greenland halibut is also presented. Oceanographic data collected during scientific surveys are provided for temperature, salinity and oxygen saturation at some stations in the study area"--Abstract.
