"The Survey on the Importance of Wildlife to Canadians During 1991 was carried out by Statistics Canada under the sponsorship of federal and provincial wildlife agencies and the direction of a Federal-Provincial Task Force representing these agencies. The major objective of the survey was to collect basic, accurate and reliable socio-economic information on the importance of wildlife to Canadians to meet Sustainable Development management needs. The survey included questions on the nature and extent of participation in wildlife related activities, levels of commitment of time and money to these activities and public support for wildlife conservation"--Introduction.
