"This independent assurance report was prepared by the Office of the Auditor General of Canada on the transportation of dangerous goods. Our responsibility was to provide objective information, advice, and assurance to assist Parliament in its scrutiny of the government's management of resources and programs, and to conclude on whether the management of the transportation of dangerous goods complied in all significant respects with the applicable criteria. .. The objective of this audit was to determine the extent to which Transport Canada and the Canada Energy Regulator implemented our 2011 and 2015 recommendations regarding their compliance and enforcement responsibilities to ensure that dangerous goods are transported safely"--About the audit, page 22.
