In particular this report covers the analysis and algorithm development that are required for the simulation of equalization and various coding strategies. The body of the report is reserved for a concise outline of the proposed simulation approach, while further discussion and technical details can be found in the appendices. The plan of this report is as follows. Section 2.0 briefly discusses equalization for broadcast teletext. A much more detailed discussion of this topic can be seen in Appendix I. Section 3.0 briefly discusses coding for broadcast teletext, with a more detailed treatment being given in Appendix II. The simulation strategy for evaluating the performance of equalization and coding is outlined in Section 4.0. In Section 5.0 we deviate slightly from the theme of this report and comment on some considerations concerning future measurements for broadcast teletext.
