Traffic-related air pollution : asthma, allergies, and lung function. : H144-70/2020E-PDF

"Traffic, a major source of air pollutants, is a global issue. In urban areas of the world, including in Canada, the impacts of traffic are of particular concern. The mixture of vehicle exhausts, secondary air pollutants formed in the atmosphere, evaporative emissions from vehicles, and non-combustion emissions (e.g., road dust and tire wear) is referred to as traffic-related air pollution (TRAP). The objective of this risk assessment is to evaluate the association of asthma, allergy, and lung function with TRAP exposure in order to inform and support programs and policies designed to mitigate exposure to, and health impacts of, TRAP in Canada"--Executive summary, page 1.
