"The Peace River water Quality project was initiated in late 1974 and a reconnaissance monitoring program was carried out from January 1975 to September 1976. The present report covers some of the data analysis of the project and is divided into two main sections, each of which is designed to be inserted as chapters into the main Peace River Water Quality Report to be completed later this year by Steve Sheehan. The first section of the report deals with an assessment of sampling variability and the second section involves an overall assessment of chemical differences between the sampling stations selected for the study. The background and aims of the project, as well as the chemical loading results, and overall variability assessments will be described in detail in other chapters of the main report and only some explanatory information is provided here so as to facilitate an understanding of the data analysis"--Introduction.
