"Following the recently released work that explores the primary foundations of disobedience, entitled The Unwilling and the Reluctant: Theoretical Perspectives on Disobedience in the Military, this book provides a number of historical case studies covering more than a century of Canada's early military history. The Apathetic and the Defiant clearly demonstrates that for more than 100 years, various forms of disobedience have marked all of Canada's conflicts, large or small.
