520 |a"The purpose of this report is to identify and characterise the effluents from British Columbia's marine based shellfish processing plants, with particular emphasis on those with wet-storage areas. Bacteriological characterisation of effluent from these plants was carried out using fecal coliforms as an indicator of pollution. Of the eleven plants included in this sampling survey, three wet-stored shellfish on the beach fronting their plants and two wet-stored in tanks. All other plants either wet-stored on remote open beach leases or did not wet-store at all"--Abstract.
