520 | |a"This report details an investigation into the impact, on the Canadian refining industry in 1990, of the elimination of MMT anti knock additives in the unleaded grades of motor gasoline, and a change in gasoline grade split. A series of computerized process simulations was carried out covering refineries in the Atlantic, Quebec, Ontario, and Western Regions. For each of these regions, a composite refinery approach was used in which active refineries in the region were represented by a single entity whose major process unit capacities equalled the sum of the reported installed capacities in that region. Estimated capital and operating costs for each region are presented as well as an overview of the current state of alternative fuels and blending processes"--Abstract. |
