The proposed Regulations are one of the complementary policies under Canada’s climate plan, which will work in concert with carbon pollution pricing to reduce emissions across the economy. As part of the proposed Regulations, the Government of Canada is developing a Fuel Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Model to determine the carbon intensity (CI) of low-carbon-intensity fuels (LCIF) used in Canada. In order to create credits, a LCIF fuel producer or foreign supplier would be required to obtain an approved CI value for each LCIF that they produce or import. The proposed Regulations would require the use of either the Fuel LCA Model to calculate facility-specific CI values using facility specific data, or the use of disaggregated default values available in the proposed Regulations"--Regulations, page 2.FuelEnvironmental aspectsCanadaEvaluationMethodology.Carbon dioxideEnvironmental aspectsCanadaEvaluationMethodology.Greenhouse gasesEnvironmental aspectsCanadaEvaluationMethodology.Life cycle assessmentCanadaMethodology.Canada.
