Atmospheric drag distortion of long spinning flexible antennas / by T.D. Harrison, F.R. Vigneron. : Co24-3/7-1232-1972E-PDF

"This report presents a mathematical model of the distortion due to atmospheric drag on spinning flexible antennas. Using parameters compatible with those of a satellite at one time proposed for the ISIS series, this model is solved for the different modes of deflection. It is concluded that the minimum perigee height should be not less than 500 km and the minimum spin rate be not less than 0.1 rpm"--Abstract, page 1.
