This guideline provides guidance on how to identify and mitigate dual-use potential in research involving pathogens, toxins, or other infectious material. In addition, the governance of research with dual-use potential in Canada and other international jurisdictions is discussed. This guideline is intended to assist regulated parties in meeting the requirements specified in the CBS, but should not be interpreted as requirements.
