Wage changes and labor flows in Canada / by John G. Cragg, University of British Columbia. : RG33-18/1973E-PDF
"How wages are set and how they change are subjects which have commanded a great deal of attention recently. Much of this interest has arisen in connection with the study of inflation for the belief is widespread that the mechanisms at work in the labor market are such that many of the most important adjustments to excess demand occur in labor markets. At the same time, it is often felt that the labor market serves as a major driving force behind the transmission and perpetuation of inflation. However, comparatively little attention has been focussed on the role which wage changes themselves play in the economic system"--Purposes and Procedures, page 1.
