"This independent assurance report was prepared by the Office of the Auditor General of Canada on access to safe drinking water in First Nations communities. Our responsibility was to provide objective information, advice, and assurance to assist Parliament in its scrutiny of the government's management of resources and programs, and to conclude on whether the support provided to First Nations communities by Indigenous Services Canada for safe drinking water complied in all significant respects with the applicable criteria. … The objective of this audit was to determine whether Indigenous Services Canada provided adequate support to First Nations communities so that they have access to safe drinking water"--About the audit, page 19.
