"Under the Official Languages Act (OLA), Library and Archives Canada (LAC), like all other Government of Canada memory institutions, must “enhance the vitality of the English and French linguistic minority communities in Canada and support . . . their development.” The issue is to define how history and heritage, including documentary heritage, can contribute to the vitality of official language minority communities (OLMCs). This concept paper aims to answer that question"--Executive Summary, page 6.
