The purpose of this study is to review the trends and problems facing Canada's forest industry, assess the level of application of technology, identify newer technologies which might enhance competitiveness, identify requirements and constraints for the development and/or implementation of newer technology, and recommend federal policy initiatives which might enhance the development and application of newer technology in the forest sector"--Summary, page [1].
