In 2018-19, the program provided $5.2 billion in student loans and grants to 700,000 students. The federal government works in partnership with participating provincial and territorial governments to deliver student loans and grants. The Canada Student Loans Program provides funding for approximately 60% of full-time students' loans and grants. Provinces or territories cover the remaining 40%. This report presents key findings on the impact of the loans and grants on post-secondary education and graduation. The evaluation focuses on the most recent pre-COVID period.
