"This publication is a source for plant identification and seed collection for six boreal plants important to Indigenous peoples: Tamarack (Larix laricina), Common blueberry (Vaccinium myrtilloides), Common bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi), Labrador tea (Rhododendron groenlandicum), Wild mint (Mentha arvensis), and Rat root (Acorus americanus). The plants are identified using their common, scientific, and Dene names. The guide book includes information on how to determine when seeds are ready to be collected, where to collect seeds, a forecasted timeframe for seed collection, and some basic information on seed cleaning and storage.
