Testing of housing units for potential contamination from wood piles / prepared for: Research Division, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation; prepared by: Building Science Division, Saskatchewan Research... : NH17-338/1993E-PDF

The project objective was to determine the potential for migration of creosote and pentachlorophenol (PCP) contamination released from foundation components to enter the living areas of the houses. Testing was conducted under a controlled set of conditions. Detailed engineering information on the houses was also collected. Air and soil sampling was conducted to determine the levels of creosote and PCP in the crawlspace and main floor of each house. Fan depressurization tests as well as nitrous oxide tracer gas decay tests were performed in each house. This report summarizes the results of a field investigation.
