"OPTIMIZE is a Canadian data base and spread sheet application for estimating the lifecycle energy, material flow, environmental impact and cost of residential buildings and assemblies. It is intended to assist researchers and designers in optimizing house performance by considering environmental externalities at the same time as other factors related to house design. For example, the choice of a particular building material could be influenced by the amount or type of waste it generates, or the energy consumed in manufacturing"--Abstract.
