520 |a"In Canada, the literature on racism in the correctional system has focused on Indigenous persons. The current study reports on personal interviews with N = 39 Ethnocultural federal offenders, here defined as any non-White, non-Indigenous person "who has specific needs based on race, language or culture and who has a desire to preserve his/her cultural identity and practices." (Commissioner's Directive-767, 2013a, para.1) Offenders who self-identify as Black make up the largest proportion of Ethnocultural offenders.
