"Web facing-applications come in various forms, and you probably use them on work and personal devices. If proper security measures are not built into these services, they are vulnerable to data leaks and other security issues. A web-facing application is any program that can be accessed over the Internet and that uses web technology and browsers to perform tasks. Examples include email services, word processors, online file converters, and calendars. The data you enter on these applications is stored in the cloud, making it easily accessible when you need it but also putting it at risk to cyber attacks"--Page 1.
