"Fans are used to ventilate buildings (move air into and out of buildings, through the envelope that separates the indoor climate-controlled spaces from the outdoors, or "ambient"), as well as to circulate air between and within indoor spaces. These functions are performed to meet the comfort and health requirements of the occupants, and to help maintain the climate of the building in a range that will also protect the building fabric and finishes"--Introduction.
