520 |a"The sensitivity of Great Lakes coastal wetlands to global warming was assessed using a Coastal Wetland Response Model (CWRM), which predicts the spatiotemporal succession of large wetland classes based on hydrodynamic and waves time series. The CWRM, which simulates physical (water depth and waves) and environmental (vegetation distribution) conditions, was adapted to twenty wetland sites along the Canadian Great Lakes coastline. The model links large-scale dynamics (i.e. those that define the Great Lakes climate and hydrodynamics) to small-scale processes that explain changes in wetland class distribution through changes in physical conditions"--Executive summary, page 7.
