Specifically, the first part of the report outlines: the development of VHR satellite imagery technology; the emergence of using VHR satellite imagery to detect megafauna; and the general opportunities and challenges associated with this approach. The second part highlights the availability of VHR satellite imagery and some considerations and applications, with a focus on the Pacific Coast.
