5203 |a"Literature reviews and laboratory studies were conducted to provide preliminary information on the properties of atmospheric fluidized bed combustion (AFBC) solid residues and to allow comparisons with conventional pulverized coal-fired (PCF) wastes and PCF flue gas desulphurization wastes. Two AFBC spent bed materials and one baghouse material were subjected to a variety of laboratory tests and analyses to evaluate their physical, chemical, exothermic and leaching properties. The wastes were generated during the combustion of Canadian high-sulphur coal and a mixture of high-sulphur coal and woodchips in limestone bed at an AFBC test facility"--Abstract, page iii.
