Bacteriological surveys, Charlotte County, New Brunswick, Shellfish Area N.B. 13, 1973 / by C.R. Blaise and R. Legault. : En42-1/5-73-2E-PDF
"Bacteriological surveys were conducted in Charlotte County, N.B. Shellfish Area 13, including shoreline waters between Red Head and Seely Head, as well as Beaver Harbour, and Deadman and Black's Harbours, from early June to mid-September, 1973. The studies were designed to reassess the present classifications of these areas for the harvesting of shellfish, and to determine whether closed areas might be exploited provided that the shellfish underwent an approved depuration process. A total of 575 sea water samples from 100 locations, 89 stream samples from 11 locations, 7 sewage samples from 2 locations, and 45 clam (Mya arenaria) specimens from 9 locations were collected and analyzed for coliform and fecal coliform numbers using the standard 5-tube MPN method"--Abstract, page i.
