"A significant proportion of the counsel in the Department of Justice are assigned to one of the 40 departmental legal services units (LSUs). LSUs provide client organizations with legal advice to facilitate their operations and ensure that the conduct of their affairs is in accordance with the law. Organizationally, each LSU is part of one of five Department of Justice Portfolio Offices.
