"Serious problems, disputes or conflicts can arise in any area of life, whether this involves victimization, harassment, disputes with loved ones, encounters with police, or difficulties obtaining products or services like health care. This study utilizes the 2021 Canadian Legal Problems Survey (CLPS) which collected data on problems or disputes experienced in everyday life which may or may not have required legal help to resolve. This article focuses on those who experienced any of the 19 problems or disputes identified in the CLPS, and who reported that these problems or disputes were serious and difficult to fix. These findings add to existing literature and could inform policies and programs aimed at prevention, early intervention, and the resolutions of problems"--Highlights, page 3.
