"This study was commissioned mainly to assess and report on the effectiveness of Canadian participation in ISO/TC 204 activities and to outline a course of action to ensure that the level of participation is adequate to protect Canadian interests during the development of international ITS standards. In addition, it was the intention to provide an overview of ITS standards development activities as a whole, with particular emphasis on ITS standards development initiatives in the United States"--Study objectives, page 3.
