Summarizes the data obtained during the development of a reflection eliminator to prevent positive or negative pressure pulses, generated by shock wave interaction with the end of a shock tube, propagating back up the expansion chamber. The study was shown that both the reflected positive and negative pressure pulses can be reduced to a very small amplitude by a flat plate placed at a predetermined distance downstream of the open end of the expansion chamber, or by a screen with adjustable openings attached to the open end of the expansion chamber.
