"This independent assurance report was prepared by the Office of the Auditor General of Canada on how efficiently and promptly Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada processes applications to its permanent resident programs. Our responsibility was to provide objective information, advice, and assurance to assist Parliament in its scrutiny of the government's management of resources and programs and to conclude on whether the department complied in all significant respects with the applicable criteria. … The objective of this audit was to determine whether Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada processed applications for permanent residence in a prompt and efficient manner to support Canada's economic, family reunification, and humanitarian objectives"--About the audit, page 25.
